In the last day I've seen quite a few images that throw errors when trying to view them (for example, [1]). Already-existing thumbnails work, but when one tries to force rendering new sizes, the server throw an error message: "Error! Our servers are currently experiencing technical difficulties".
Is this a know issue? It doesn't seemn to be anything wrong with the images themselves, because they were previously used in articles.

I just got this same error for a different file. Have you filed a Phabricator ticket?
