Larousse is now a dual Athlon MP 2800. Or MP 2600, as the BIOS settings perhaps are not quite right.
Anyway, that's a bit of a step up from an 866MHz Pentium III and should be a big help!
Pliny has not yet been touched; Jason can give more details on the hardware issues, but it seems things don't exactly fit and maybe not all the bits are here yet.
Larousse currently has 2 gigs of ram; with the full 4 gigs that had earlier been tried in pliny there was some segfaulting, leading to again suspicions of bad memory. It passed up through the 4th test level on memtest86 before we got tired and tried downgrading it to 2 but that's not conclusive.
At some point all the mem should be more thoroughly tested.

It's important to comment how much we appreciate your efforts in keeping the masses apprised of what is going on in the technical side, even if much of the time we have no clue about what you are saying.
Often, just saying things when technology appears to be in technical default works wonders in maintaining a Wiki spirit of openness. This contrasts with saying nothing, and leaving the masses grumbling in the dark.
Those of us who don't understand the technical side, can at least feel confident that the material is there for those who do. Thanks.

The alluvial dampers are shot, but we were able to reroute the power couplings through the neural cluster... ;)
Glad to help!
