Hi everyone, I'm pretty annoyed about the limited possibilities of typesetting mathematical formulas within the <math>-tag. It is not possible to create any more complicated formulas which, I think, is essential for further developing the maths section and not only giving definitions but also proofs. How come so many commands are disabled? Also, where can I find a list of all commands currently availibe? \setminus works but isn't mentioned on any of the formula help-pages. Ncik

Do you mind testing our implementation of AMS-Latex, Nick? We've employed the whole repertoire:

How and why are the commands limited anyway ?
How and why are the commands limited anyway ?
Different security models: Texvc's "white list" sup- ports only which commands as have explicitly been compiled in; WikiTeX' "black list", on the other hand, excludes dan- gerous commands.

Please prepare the list of safe symbols missing from texvc's whitelist if you want them added.

Is there a webpage where texvc's white and wikitex's black list are on display so that I know what possiblities there are at the moment?

Is there a webpage where those two lists can be found?

Certainly, Nick; regarding WikiTeX' blacklist, please consult:

I'd be curious to see whether you needed something we've excluded.

Indeed, there are no excluded commands I'd need. However, I get an error message (Failed to parse) when trying to use any of these (which are listed in the document amsldoc.pdf linked on wikisophia.org/wiki/Wikitex#Math): \text, \textsuperscript, \pod, \nolimits and \sideset. Ncik

Your LaTeX is false, Ncik; you'll notice that the fol- lowing produces senseless (but correct) output using all of the above:
<math> \text{text}\textsuperscript{super} \iint\nolimits \pod{2} \left[\sideset{_**}{_**} \prod_k\qquad\sideset{}{}\sum_{0\le i\le m}E_i\beta x\right] </math>
Does it work?

Well, some variabales can only be changed by renewcommand. I have no certain issue in mind, but this could be useful.
BTW: Is it possible to recieve the code of wikitex ? I have already seen other independend unofficial implementations (for mediawiki) that do the same as wikitex, and are used within existing Mediawiki installations. I just think it would be useless to have again another implementation...
Since me and some others have ideas for further development it would be great to have access to the code.
