Hi,
I did a quick test of what audio files look like when used inline, with the new OGG Handler extension:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Sandbox&oldid=756...
It appears that the 'frame' keyword doesn't cause the new player to appear. I doubt that frame is used very much, but since the old behaviour is next to useless, I suggest that it get the upgrade as well.
Also,
now seems to have no material difference to . (Maybe the caption could appear next to the "i" graphic?)
Another minor thing is that when the "thumb" keyword is used, the "i" graphic is centred, whereas otherwise it is left aligned.
thanks, Brianna
Another interesting thing about this is that in a category listing OGG files now have 'play' button. The videos get a nice preview image and the sound files still have the same old speaker icon. I guess this is a good thing... although playing the video at 120px wide or whatever seems a bit strange.
Probably 'frame' () would like the same behaviour.
cheers, Brianna

This is the great benefit of the MediaHandler architecture - higher-level code doesn't need to know or care what the handler does when it's instructed to fetch a thumbnail/visual representation of a file - and the handler can do what it thinks best.
