I have been in discussion with two institutions (the University of British Columbia and a military hospital in the USA) who are interested in collaborating with Wikipedia. One of the proposed ideas is to create a program that would simultaneously upload images deemed suitable to both Wikimedia Commons and the other Wiki in question. Are there any programmers interested in taking on this project?

This is not me volunteering. But Magnus' toys http://toolserver.org/~magnus/ include various things to upload images via the API and may be examples to work from.

I am working on a new media handling layer that will have that capability built in. Look for it in the trunk in the next couple weeks.
Cheers, Ben
