Hey,
I just trying giving a frequent contributor to one of the extensions I maintain the right to create new branches on gerrit. Looks like I'm only able to add groups, while I cannot add or remove people from the extension owner group for this extension, nor do I appear to be able to create new groups.
Is there are sane way to do this, or do I need to use the completely broken workflow of going to a wiki page and bugging other people about giving access to an extension they are not even familiar with?
Cheers

Please bug Gerrit admins through the "not so broken workflow" :-)
Hi Antoine,
I really think we need to rethink how we are handing out non-admin Gerrit rights to our engineers, both staff and volunteers. Create repo and create branch rights should be handed out by default. There is absolute zero reason for being stingy in handing out these rights. The loss of productivity is really not acceptable and it would be a real shame if we decided to drop Gerrit as our code review not because of Gerrit's inadequacies but because the way we utilize Gerrit is broken. Best, Diederik

Branch creation rights aren't something that can be assigned--I believe it's hardcoded based on project ownership. That's something worth investigating and fixing if possible.
