Oh, thank fuck. I thought for a moment that a recent commit of mine to Parser.php had screwed up the software, but couldn't find the problematic change - all I could determine was that, for me, it seemed to trigger when Cite was active.
It's wonderful what PHP will chuck out as HTML output when it encounters "interesting" bugs like this. :)

According to the bug report, although the fuck-up I was observing on the local test wiki was a little more...erm, well, it was a little bit more severe.
