guys, didnt find out how to un-admin a user (without deleting). Any link or suggestion available? tx a lot HeliR

Only stewards can unsysop an admin. For such a request : http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_permissions

tx, but that does not help because it deals with sysop-rights in wikipedia on my own (mediawiki) wiki a user has to be unsysoped for legal reasons, I am the Admin and have burocrat status. The page "Spezial:Makesysop" just allows to create, not to set or to remove sysop-rights. again: how to un-sysop s.o. within my user-base? tx HeliR

You can do that via direct access to database, look at table 'user', column 'user_rights'. You can do something like UPDATE user SET user_rights="" WHERE user_name="BadUser" HTH, [[ cs:User:Mormegil | Petr Kadlec ]]

OK, I have deleted the entry in the mysql:user_rights looking at the source I found that there is another user-right "above" burocrat, that is DEVELOPER. How can I set developer-Status on my own wiki? tx HeliR

Oh, I see, you use MediaWiki 1.4?

Just add it to the list, so that it reads e.g. "sysop,bureaucrat,developer". [[ cs:User:Mormegil | Petr Kadlec ]]
