That needs to be reversed, I think; it seems to me that the intended
meaning is "indefinite", as in, for an undetermined period of time, as
opposed to "infinite", which means forever, more or less.
Maybe my commit message was mistakable, but I made the canonical block
time values over all message files consistent only, not any translation.
These canonical values are not shown to the user/local admin and the
value in the database field is "infinity", always.
Only 6 of 60 message files (de, gsw, hsb, sl, sq and tr) used
"indefinite" as canonical value and I assume this happens by copy&paste
during localizations.
On base of a clean source code I propose to held the canonical values
consistent.
But you point me to the possibility that a project uses "indefinite".
With r21844 I have added a check for "indefinite" if a local
customization uses this value in [[MediaWiki:Ipboptions]]. Thanks.
