Hi, Sumana Harihareswara here, interim volunteer development coordinator. Thanks for the introduction, Rob.
Nicole Ebber (Wikimedia DE -- thanks, Germany chapter!) and I are organizing the Berlin developer Meeting in mid- or late May. We have two strong candidates for the dates: either May 20-22, 2011 or May 13-15, 2011. Please indicate your preference as soon as you can on the straw poll:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Berlin_Hackathon_2011#Straw_Poll
so Nicole can get the venue secured by early next week.
Also, it would be great for us to plan ahead for the sprints and mark bugs for the bugbash. Please add possible bugs to the bug list
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/mediawiki/wiki/Berlin_Hackathon_2011#...
and consider what would be the best use of the concentrated developer time in Berlin. While we have all this power in one place, let's hash out a couple of issues and come to clear decisions. A few ideas from the wiki page:
* New parser design
* Expansion of the Virtualization Framework
* toolserver's purpose and services, since we'll be in Berlin
but we should probably just focus on two, since we only have 2-3 days.
Best, Sumana Harihareswara
Hoi, At the same time fo the Berlin Hackathon there will be the first meeting of the language committee. Santhosh Thottingal is a new member and he has a lot of experience on the subject of language support. What we hope for is to make the most of us both being in Berlin. Thanks, GerardM

I wasn't planning to attend this event, but I might come if people are discussing the Toolserver... do you have any more details on this? (The wiki page just says "Toolserver", which is not especially informative.)
