Hi, I am searching for opportunities to limit search-areas, so it's possible to search in subareas of the content. Is there another possibility to realise this, than assign articles to namespaces? Because sometimes it's a little bit unpractical to assign articles to only one namespace... Maybe there's any kind of extension? greets...magggus

Have you considered Semantic MediaWiki? Or leveraging namespaces? I considered namespaces. But as far as I know it's only possible to allocate one namespace to each article. At the moment I am searching for more differentiate alternatives to limit search-areas, like it would be if I could allocate multiple namespaces to one article. Maybe I will have a look on Semantic MediaWiki, if it offers more possibilities!?

Maybe you want categories? At the moment, the default (MySQL-backed) search engine doesn't support directly restricting search on categories, but I'm sure it could be added without a great deal of trouble by someone interested in doing it. -- brion vibber (brion @ wikimedia.org)
