A RAID 0+1 configuration, with data striped over two disks on one adapter and mirrored to the other adapter, is more reliable and probably a little bit faster.
That's what my partner said when I told him about the proposed database server (he has to deal with RAID issues at work sometimes).

However, I believe RAID 0+1 will give you less performance than RAID 5, and cuts the amount of space you have as well. It will probably perform better than RAID 5 in the case of a disk failure, however.
Yes, I have adjusted my configuration to that. To get the same amount of disk space is a bit more expensive, but I really like the combination of speed and redundancy this gives us.
I've requested an electronic transfer of the U.S. dollar balance from PayPal to our real bank account, because for now I don't have a bankcard for the PayPal account directly, so I will need the money in the bank so that I can do online ordering.
This is said to take a few business days (3, I think they said), and since I did it on Saturday Morning, I expect that the actual purchase will be Wednesday or Thursday.
So we can keep chatting if anyone has good ideas.

Just as an aside, the Paypal card is handy to have (I have one, use it a lot)... Also, on their site, under 'Withdraw', 'Shop online with a PayPal virtual card'- useful thing.

Yes, I will get one, but our account hasn't been open long enough to be eligible yet.
