So you might write <ref>{{refs:Markowitz_2007|pages=1-10}}</ref>
Which is a lot more readable and compact than
<ref>{{Citation | last=Markowitz | first=Maury | author-link= . . .
It's also not equivalent, unless there's only one Markowitz in the world and he only wrote one thing in 2007. {{refs:A workable ref/note/cite system for wikipedia}} or {{refs:Maury Markowitz/A workable ref/note/cite system for wikipedia}}, maybe. Still a lot better, though. :)
I agree. I'm actually leaning toward the terse but totally uninformative {{refs:uid}} and let the editor have another window/tab open to get uid from searching. Disambiguating based on content inside the ref tag rapidly runs into "what if he published two papers in 2007 with the same title in different journals?" etc. Pretty soon you're back to the whole thing inside the ref tag.
