Would be real nice to have a contact us link at the bottom of each page as well. Might be easiest to just have a [[MediaWiki:Footermessage]] page and have each wiki decide what to put in there (more than one link could be put in, such as [[Privacy policy]] – [[Contact us]] – [[Terms of use]]).
I agree with this. I've filed it as a feature request at http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1999
