Hello,
I use wikimedia on intranet and I want to make a document (and folder) link (for download it)
But I read in the wiki's help, than can't possible to use [files:\toto\folder\tata.pdf] where toto is name server (windows). I can't make alias on folder with Apache (I'm not system root in my work, only advance user)
The real problem isn't that you can't tell MediaWiki to render file://foo as a link, but that a lot of modern browsers won't show such links for various security reasons.
See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgUrlProtocols.
