Related, stay off of r/linux if you do not want to see some of the worst examples of a community (or watchers of a community) responding to the idea of a Code of Conduct that I can imagine. The folks like Valorie, Sage, and Coraline Ada (https://www.contributor-covenant.org/) who are putting themselves on the line to drive these discussions forward are so much more brave and dedicated that I am. I am in awe of their contributions to making technical spaces more livable.
