I suggest: to modify the MediaWiki behaviour, so that both, the User_talk:X *and* User:X pages trigger the "you have new messages" flag
With or without Enotif (which would be very nice): yes please to this being triggered by the User page changing!
(This would also save on people feeling they have to lock their user page against vandals ...)
