This is by no means necessary, but my experience with global message delivery has been that when you add a note about how you found that page ("I'm here because [[m:Distribution list]] said this was the appropriate place to post."), it dramatically helps in keeping the distribution list up-to-date. By giving people a pointer to your information source (and giving them a way to edit the list themselves, of course), you empower them, I've found. Just something to keep in mind.
Thanks, as always, for your work on these shell requests. Shell requests are notoriously perilous (poor Jens and the English Wikipedia...). Hopefully ^demon will make a proper configuration system in short order and this work can be given to the stewards. :-)
