I'd like to chime in here with a request for an "incoming check sanity work queue", for newly created pages and newly uploaded files.
Checking Special:Newpages and Special:Newimages is haphazard at best - a lot of stuff slips through the cracks, and other stuff gets double checked.
Commons would find the image queue spectacularly useful, but I suspect most other wikis would find the page queue very useful.
