indicate. If you are having trouble getting files out of CVS, this software IS NOT READY for you and you should not attempt to use it.
I am a software engineer and I know how to use CVS.
Given what you wrote about downloading the CVS tarball, it's very easy to assume the opposite. ;)
I were able to compile most of the modules with Visual Studio .NET 2003. But I still have some problems.
Perhaps there's a reason I've been saying it's not ready for third-party use...
I need a wiki for my department at work. I've set one up basing on mediawiki. Unfortunately the mediawiki's own search functions are not strong enough. I need a full text search with substrings and wildcards. If you discourage me to use mwsearch, how can I have such a fulltext search with wildcards in combination with mediawiki?
You might try reading the relevant messages on mediawiki-l, where just in the last couple days someone with a similar problem has investigated what was preventing wildcard matches from working for them and posted some code to work around the problem.
(Since you're not developing MediaWiki itself, and you're not working on Wikimedia's servers, wikitech-l is really pretty offtopic for this. The MediaWiki third-party user support and configuration help list is mediawiki-l.)
