I know that page hits were turned off. The same argument could be made for my idea, but who knows.
I discussed with brion once in IRC that id be interested in seeing some type of statistic gathered for who is using wikipedia ,eg like "hfastedge, BrionVibber.... are online right now".
Brion raised privacy concerns , which is fine.
Still, im very frustrated without some type of statistic. As a simple compromise, I want to record :
(simply numbers, not names): how many people have used wiki over the last day, month , year.

if its ok (from a hardware perspective) i'll go an write the patch.
