That's great. How long do you think it will take?
I have taken a quick look at the template and do not think it will take
much
time to support. We generally do data pushes about once per month, so
it may
take that long before users would see any articles pop up in the
Wikipedia
layer that have been tagged with this template. Of course, this is also dependent on the database dump cycles. If there is not a new dump
available
when we kick off the next round of parsing, it might be two months.
Thanks, but the key question is - how long until you can say "from now on, we will recognise coord templates" ?
It would be great if you could also notify me, and wikitech-l, as soon as that's the case.
I will let you and wikitech-l know as soon as I have added support for this template. I am thinking within a week.
Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to let you all know that I have added support for parsing the '{coord}' template to our extraction tools used to publish articles in Google Earth. I will make sure that our FAQhttp://earth.google.com/userguide/v4/geoweb_faq.htmlgets updated accordingly. Users can expect to see articles that have been marked up with this template in future data releases.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks for your patience, Jason
