Jimmy, I tried to summarize your answer in http://meta.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia#Financial_situation so we can add there also the donation status and other things.
I think the "on what will we spend money" is something that should be discussed in a clear and open way, therefore i startet that "Financial" part on the Wikimedia Article. Just looking in some postings on a mailinglist should not be the way to find out, how Wikimedias Situation is (at least I don't feel comfortable with it...).

PS: Maybe we should later create an extra "Wikimedia-Financial" page that is protected. But I did not get admin-rights yet, so I can not protect this page for now.
