I looked around in Help of meta.wikipedia and could not find the template I wanted.
It seems to me the current "template" in mediawiki is something like macro definition in C programming language, not the "template" in MS office word. Like template for resume, letter, etc.
Does that really make sense ? What you are looking for is a style template like real CMS Websystems are offering.
A wiki however is unique in its layout, therefore you will hardly find a template for things like a resume or letter, since a wiki is build up on articles only.
I would be interested, for what purpose you want to use a wiki when such templates are necessary.
Well, I find it useful to take another article as template. I look around, and when I found something to build my article on, I just hit Alt+E to edit, click into the text (would be nice if some javascript set the focus to that already...), hit Ctrl+A to mark all, hit Ctrl+C to copy it, then go to the new article, click into the text (would be nice if some ... oh yeah, I already said that), Ctrl+V to paste it, and then go through the text line by line to replace the contents.
