That's a pretty good example of an extension which is not supported by the installer at the moment. There's a python script which generates the images, and it takes so long that if you ran it from the web installer, you would risk a timeout.
There has been some talk on mediawiki-l suggesting that FancyCaptcha is broken anyway, and that some wikis using it have been spammed to death.
Maybe AbuseFilter would be a better anti-spam choice.
