You can try, but probably you won't get any answers unless someone here happens to have used or looked at the extension. The original maintainer is probably the only one to know enough about it to give support.
Server-provided spell-checking routines are fairly obsolescent, though. It's only useful for IE users, who can get a plugin if they want it.
