Wikinews has a social networking template that (presumably) passes privacy muster:

That's correct. It only uses JS to make shorter links ( http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/?curid=1234 style) for twitter. No data is passed to facebook. Its just an image that's hyperlinked in essence.
