I think I red some things on annotations in the Visual Editor, but I can't find it again. Do you have relevant informations on the subject? I like to use template like {{why|blabla}} and {{according to who|blabla}}, but in the same time I can see that while making a contribution call to knowledgeable people, it can quickly clutter the text with a lot of underlined sentances. So it may be interesting to have an option to hide/show this kind of query.
