Dear Ms.,
I thank you for your answer. I am already a member of Africa Wikimedia Developers Project. I contacted Mr. Felix Nartey and Mr. Alangi Derick about creating a user group for Wikimedia Developers in Tunisia. However, we could not do that because we lacked time. As I said in the previous email, I am a medical student and I just code for fun. I have several skills of HTML, Pascal and Python. But, I am not a computer scientist. I am as well interested since 2009 in contributing to Wikipedia, Wikimedia Incubator and Wikimedia Commons... I do not contribute to Mediawiki... As I saw, all contributors to Africa Wikimedia Developers Project work on Mediawiki. However, I work on enriching Wikidata using Python. My project is to use PubMed to enrich Wikidata with Biomedical information. If there are members of Africa Wikimedia Developers Project who like to join my project and support me, I will be honoured to work with them.
Yours Sincerely,
Houcemeddine Turki (he/him)

Hello Dine,
I am assuming you have seen Srishti reply to Richa as it applies in your
case as well. The time left to prepare a good proposal for this round is
very small and you may consider preparing for next round instead. In that
case, I suggest you join the Africa Wikimedia Developer program. There you
will have a lot of other motivated volunteers who contribute code to
Wikimedia projects around Africa and later if eligible apply for outreach
programs in Wikimedia.

The 1.33.0-wmf.24 version of MediaWiki is blocked[0].
The new version is deployed to group0[1], but can proceed no further until
these issues are resolved:
* Citoid should only usurp "<ref" / ctrl+shift+k shortcuts if full
configured - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T219510
* RefreshLinksJob::runForTitle: transaction round 'RefreshLinksJob::run'
already started on commons - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T220037
The first issue was deemed noncritical for group1 but the second caused a
large spike in DBTransactionError rates. The second issue already has a
proposed fix but had not yet merged at the closing of the train deployment
window.
If both issues are resolved by tomorrow's train window, group1 and group2
will be promoted in succession at that time (barring further issues).
Thank you for your help resolving these issues!
Your humble train toiler,
Dan

Hi,
I've setup a Mediawiki for internal usage with VisualEditor.
Using the "Edit Source" I can do something like:
[[Media:Traduccio.jpg|test]]
To have a direct link to a file (instead of the page landing page).
Can I achieve the same using VisualEditor?
Even a more important question maybe, if a page had a Media link and
then I use the Visual Editor somewhere in this page it gets changed by:
[//localhost:8080/images/c/ce/Traduccio.jpg test]
(note that this instance has $wgServer = "http://localhost:8080"; ,
but I would like the link to stay as Media:File.jpg or at least to be
like /images/c/ce/Traduccio.jpg without the hostname... but ideally
leaving the Media)
Is it possible using VisualEditor? Some configuration that needs to be
changed?
I downloaded it from here, shoul be this one:
https://extdist.wmflabs.org/dist/extensions/VisualEditor-REL1_31-6854ea0.ta…
Thank you very much,

Hi All,
I wanted to send a heads-up that I've reverted some recent Gerrit ACL
changes that I believe have been problematic from a Gerrit operational
stability standpoint.
These ACL changes have been blocking some Phabricator mirroring, and you
may receive emails from Phabricator about old changes being mirrored
into Phabricator.
Sorry for the noise.
Your Gerrit Toiler,

Hello!
MediaWiki-CodeSniffer 25.0.0 is now available for use in your
MediaWiki extensions and other projects. This release features an
upstream update, performance improvements, and tweaks to an existing
sniff.
Note that libraryupgrader isn't currently working[1], so I'm not
planning to bump all repos (I just did core manually). I expect that
we'll have another release later this month, so we might just bump
directly to that one.
Anyways, here's the changelog:
* Prohibit aliases is_long, is_double and is_real (mainframe98)
* Streamline PHPDoc comment parsing in UnusedUseStatement sniff
(Thiemo Kreuz)
* Upgrade PHP_CodeSniffer to 3.4.1 (Kunal Mehta)
* Whitelist more phan annotations (Kunal Mehta)

I agree with Bartosz Dziewoński. However, after checking out the code, I
think the reason why I need to change the RLQ push statements is due to
the resources/src/mediawiki.base/mediawiki.base.js modifications in
v1.32 stable.
window.RLQ = {
push: function ( entry ) {
if ( typeof entry === 'function' ) {
entry();
} else {
mw.loader.using( entry[ 0 ], entry[ 1 ] );
}
}
};
It seems hacky, but when using RLQ.push() and mw.loader.using in widgets
I now have to use
RLQ.push([ [], function () {
mw.loader.using('mymodule');
});
Otherwise mw.loader.using won't be defined as the anonymous function is
executed instantly (why mw.using.loader is not available globally yet at
this time I dont know for sure).
Hi,
Could someone please see if WMF wikis could be whitelisted as a follow up
to
https://github.com/easylist/easylist/issues/3188?
Despite the short term distruption, Could it be placed on Tech News as
users were noticing that some pages were blocked?
Thanks,
RhinosF1
