To accommodate the mobile web team's migration from Mingle to Trello, I've
made some enhancements to Bugello [1] to bring it more in line with the
features we had added to Bingle. New features include:
* Support for prefixing bug cards in Trello with [Bug $bug_num], which
helps with...
* Improved dupe detection
* Adding bug descriptions to Trello card
* Adding bug comments from BZ to new Trello cards
* Posting a link back to BZ to the Trello card
I also did some refactoring and made some minor bug fixes (including one
that I know was plaguing the Flow team).
I will be rolling this out for the mobile web team on Monday. Any other
current users of Bugello should contact me if interested in updating to get
these features - there are some config changes that you'll need to make and
a couple of gotchas to look out for, and I'd be happy to walk you through
it.
Thanks and happy Friday!

Everyone,
I am pleased to announce that Danny Horn is joining the Product Development
team as Product Manager. His first day was Monday April 21.
Some of you may know Danny from his work at Wikia. Prior to joining WMF,
Danny was a Product Manager at Wikia for six years. At Wikia, Danny was
focused on increasing user contributions and collaboration. His projects
included a Wiki Create wizard, a new Activity Feed, a Chat feature and the
Message Wall (a threaded discussion system, Wikia's version of Flow). He's
familiar with MediaWiki and Wikiculture, and was one of the founders of Muppet
Wiki <http://muppet.wikia.com>, a collaborative encyclopedia about the
Muppets and Jim Henson.
Danny has a BA in English Literature from Brown University and an MS in
Sexuality Education from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his
work on Muppet Wiki, he also has a daily blog, Dark Shadows Every
Day<http://darkshadowseveryday.com>,
about the 1960s vampire soap opera.
Please join me in welcoming Danny!
Howie

Hi,
Just like every first Tuesday of the month [1], the Engineering
Community team has reviewed and fine tuned the monthly and quarterly plans:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Engineering_Community_Team/Meetings
With Google Code-in and Outreach Program for Women starting soon, this
month is expected to be very busy.
We also have our team's quarterly review, which we expect will be useful
to sync our longer term plans with our actual activities - see
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Engineering/2013-14_Goals#Wikimedi…
Last week we had the monthly ECT Showcase, just like every last Tuesday
of the month [1]. There we presented a selection of tasks completed in
October. You can watch the video at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Gl-oR2ucU (copy to Commons pending,
help welcome).
Next week we will have our monthly IRC meeting, just like every second
Tuesday of the month. You can propose topics to be discussed at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Engineering_Community_Team/Meetings#2013-11-…
That is all for now. We will use this thread for future updates.
Questions? Just ask.
[1] Just joking, we only completed a first iteration.

Apply by May 31.
If you have a plan to improve an open source project, and you could live
in San Francisco for three months to work on it full-time, please apply.
You don't have to be a student! You do have to be a coder and the
project has to already exist.

I'd LOVE for someone to use this grant to work on one of these:
