Hi,
I have already got the article data from the wikipedia and I stored it
on my computer .Now I want to add the article to the local wiki. I have
done a lot of reaserches and I know that there are a lot of things to do.
If add a record to the page table ,then the
revision,recentchange,text,pagelink table and so on will be changed.So I
think maybe there is a easy way to do that .
Can you tell me what should I do ? Should I simply use
'insert,update,select...'words?
Sincerely looking froward you help, thanks

Hello,
Anyone has experience in importing enwiki database dump at
http://download.wikimedia.org/backup-index.html into a real MySQL
server?
1. It seems pages-meta-history has the max. size in term of download,
how much storage space does it take when imported into a table?
(including index)
2. What are the total storage needed for importing the whole enwiki?
3. Do you experience performance problem when querying the database,
seems I think most table if over 10GB size? Any suggestion?
I need this imformation as I require to prepare budget plan to buy a
proper server for doing the job.
Thank you.

hi,
I want to find something in wikidb. But I don't exectly know how to use the
select statement write in WIKI.
For ecample .
DatabaseBase::select ($ table,
$ vars,
$ conds = '',
$ fname = 'Database::select',
$ options = array(),
$ join_conds = array()
)
How can I use this to rewrite ' select * from recentchangs where rc_id
in(selcet max(rc_id) from recentchangs group by rc_title) and
rc_title='Wiki' '.
Thanks very much!

This is because I healed obvios places.
At least one example remains:
http://wiki-en.genealogy.net/Special:BookSources
Is it possible that during update language files got corrupted?

Hi,
There is an issue concerning unit conversions in wikitext:
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235
This one doesn't deserved any attention since a long time. The original
proposition was about converting units "on the fly" regarding user preferences.
I don't know if it is feasible and/or desirable.
I propose to work on something less ambitious: adding a parser function to
provide conversion - maybe in ParserFunction.
The idea would be something like:
{{#unit: 1000 ft|m}} => <span title="304m (1000ft)">304m</span>
If I start working on this, will anyone accept to review the code?
Thanks in advance,
Sylvain.
