$wgValidSpecialPages and function getValidSpecialPages()

It seems $wgValidSpecialPages and the function that returns it, getValidSpecialPages(), don't do anything anymore. This email is sent to confirm that this is really true so that i can subsequently send in a patch that removes it from the various language files.

Changing copyright license question.

I've looked around the site and through the archives, but I have not found how you can change the license message from within WikiMedia. What I am looking to do, is remove the GFDL text that appears in the bottom of my Wiki, and replace it with a notice indicating that the material (documents) is property of my employer. If anyone could point me to some documentation on how to do this, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Wes

Blocking an admin, expected behaviour

I knew that you cannot block an admin because he can simply unblock himself. There were some experiments on it.wiki (have a look to http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speciale:Log/block), but I cannot understand if there's a problem or is the right behaviour. Svante and Archenzo are both admins. Svante blocked Archenzo: 22:12, Feb 28, 2005 Svante bloccato "Utente:Archenzo" per un periodo di 2 hours (perchè ha votato per Berlusconi nelle elezioni politiche del '94, nel '96 e pure nel 2001) Then Archenzo try to unblock himself, but he cannot succeed. Wikipedia/WikiCommons/Wikibooks are all dangerously slow. I recently installed the Zend Optimiser 2.5.7 on my site www.wikinerds.org . Zend Optimiser speeds up php by 40%. I think you should install it too if you haven't done so already. -- NSK http://portal.wikinerds.org

deletion of images

Why is deletion of images permanent ? Is there a good reason it is so while articles may be restored ? While images deletion is permanent, it really tips the balance in favor of deletionists, I do not think it is fair. If there is no possibility to retrieve a deleted pictures, deletion should possibly not be as easy than just clicking on delete. Is there a solution other than retrieving lost images on our mirrors ?
