EE contacted Wikimedia UK about domain-they are waiting to hear back from the foundation

Edit-a-thons

Engineering Week-event in conjunction with Engineers Ireland has been confirmed for Sunday 8 February at 11am. It will be an intro to Wikipedia/Women in Engineering edit-a-thon. There is a possibility of hosting more events with this group

RO and SE will be meeting with NMI Collins Barracks about a possible WWII edit-a-thon in February

March is Women in History Month-possible event to be held

Conferences

DBpedia-9 February-Dublin-SE and RO will attend and attempt to recruit

CESI-28 February-Galway-EE has been given a 30 minute speaking slot. SE will also attend

Digital Preservation-submission deadline 26 January-RO will write an abstract for a paper on sharing and preservation using WLM as a case study

Other Events

Year in Irish Design-RO will contact about event in September

Maritime Trip-EE, SE, and Joseph Quinn will meet CM at the National Maritime Museum to discuss ways for Wikimedia Community Ireland to work with them.

NUIG News

SF had a meeting with one of the coordinators of the Journalism course. They would like to explore the use of WikiNews as part of their 3rd year program. EE will introduce SF to his contact at WikiNews
