Simple APG-RO and SE have a meeting with the WMF representative about
this grant on 29 November. The following changes have been made to the
budget and schedule for 2017:

Reduced to just over €58,000

Includes funds for 1 FTE and 2 short term contract positions

FTE to focus on outreach and education

Contractors to clean up dirty data for WLM and to run WLE

Wiki Conference 2017-The group needs to choose a representative by 8
January.

GB was contacted by an Irish Language radio station to talk about
Vicipéid over the next 2-3 weeks.
Workshops

HSTM Workshop-12 November-As it was a lunch meeting, it became more of a
Q&A than a workshop. RO made several contacts in DCU and the HTSM Network.

NUI Maynooth -BA is overseeing 1st year University students working with
Wikipedia. Mostly adding references, links, ect. Currently they have 351
editors

UCD-23 November-O’Brien Science Ctr-9-12

91 students expected and is open to the public

Subjects covered-basic Wikipedia editing, uploading images to
Commons, and moving information from the Sandbox to the articles

NUI Galway-Neuroscience Project-SF was contacted about 14 Masters
students using the Education Extension to work with Wikipedia.
SF will ask
for admin rights on the extension.

Awards Celebrations to take place on 22 November at 7pm in Dublin.

SE and RO have heard back from several of the winners, some of whom will
be attending.

RO has lined up 4 judges for the writing contest. They should have the
winners by the end of the month. It was agreed that the draft article for
Patrick Whelan will be eligible.
