By-laws-We made it through more than half of the bylaws which can be
found here. Here are some notes from the discussion:

After the discussion of the bylaws in finished it will be put out on
the mailing list for comment. We would also like to allow the
mailing list
members vote on acceptance.

Article 1-Not sure about the name Wikimedia Éire-will consulte Oliver
-
Article 2-Asks for physical address of chapter. As we won’t have an
office, this was deleted
-
Article 6 Section 2.5-There was discussion about having to be an
Associate Member for 6 months before being a full member. No
consensus was
reached, so it remains in for now.

Article 16 Section 2-We discussed a way to confirm invitation to the
AGM. EE will look into it.

We will continue the discussion of the bylaws at the next meeting.

SCI:COM-SE will finish the grant and submit it by the end of the week.
WLM

One judge has returned semi-final picks. SE contacted the judges to
remind of the 24 October deadline.

The PR company contacted us about awards promotion. We will get back to
them next week.
Other Events

Science Gallery-EE has confirmed the date for the TRAUMA meeting for 20
January at 6:30. EE will start recruiting speakers.
Misc
-
Vicipéid-SE will forward on the contact details of SF to the researcher.

Education Program-It was agreed that SF and SE will apply for course
co-ordinator rights. The application will be put in after Rebecca returns
so she can endorse it.
Due to Mid-Term break next week we will not have a meeting. The next
meeting will take place on Tuesday 3 November at 6:30pm in Dublin. If you

Edit-a-thons

IYOD Limerick-we had a successful event with a large amount of edits. We
also made a contact at University of Limerick who is interested in holding
more events.

PRONI-JQ’s contact there is changing. We are looking at a possible date
in February.
Conferences
-
SCI:COM 15-8 December-One of the speakers will be presenting about their
experience with a Wikimedian in Residence. It was decided that we should
have a presence there. SE will write a grant requesting WMF cover the
conference charge and transport and accommodation.
WLM
-
Presort has been completed and the list has been sent to the judges.
They will return their top 15 for the semi final round by 24 October. The
semi-final list will then be compiled and returned to the judges for their
final top 10 to be returned by 31 October.

RO has completed the invite. It will be shared on Facebook, Twitter, and
the mailing list.

Vicipéid-We received an email from a researcher looking for information
on Vicipéid. RO will look for some relevant papers. SF will be the point of
contacts.

Education Program-RO will send an email inquiring about changes to the
application process before we move forward.

Wikipedia Library-RO is starting to collect free sources.

Reviewed the chapter paperwork status. Discussions on by-laws will begin
at the next meeting.
Edit-a-thons

UCD-Tomorrow RO will run a training session for a class using the
Wikipedia Education Program with SE also attending. RO explained how the
Education Program works. JQ might have another course interested in using
it. He will get back to us.

Irish Year of Design-the event is this weekend in Limerick. SE, RO, SF
and Oliver will be attending.

PRONI-JQ got in touch with his contact at PRONI about an event in early
2016. PRONI asked for some dates. The group decided to offer any Thursday
in February or the first 2 weeks in March.

We ended the contest with 1661 images (22nd) uploaded by 294 users (6th).
-
The pre-sorted of the images has begun. They are due to be finished by
12 October. The remaining images will then be forwarded to the judges.

RO will create an invite for the awards event.
-
EE will be building easels to display the images at the awards event.
-
A volunteer from the UK has done some work with the categorization of
the images from the 2015 competition. He has also added images to existing
articles. Due to this work, 1% of the new images are currently being used.

Science Gallery

TRAUMA-EE heard back from the Science Gallery and they would like us to
suggest dates for our next event. EE will suggest a night during the week
on 17-23 January. Once we have a date secured we will begin to recruit
speakers.
The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 13 October at 6:30pm in Dublin.

Chapter Work-Work was done over the past week to move forward with
applying for Chapter status:

EE created a draft of bylaws for the group which can be seen here

The working group will look at it and discuss it in the meetings over the
next few weeks, making changes as needed. SE will look at LLP
agreement to
see if that needs to be incorporated into the bylaws

As of the meeting we had 1480 images (20th) uploaded by 273 users (5th).

The award ceremony will be held on 9 November at 6:30 in Stags Head Pub
in Dublin.

The presorting of the images will begin shortly after the contest ends.
Each volunteer will take a few hundred images to download and sort through.
The images will go to the judges no later than 12 October.

EE responded to an email from Photocall Ireland. He set up a meeting for
13 October to discuss how we can work together.

We have had a lot of discussions about the Ireland monument pages on
Wikipedia. It was agreed that they need a complete overhaul. RO will create
an outline of the issues.

Science meetup.
