We welcomed a new member to the group, Donna Alexander (DA).
Edit-a-thons

UCD student workshop-10 October.

DA will be running an edit-a-thon at UCC in February-date pending.

JQ would like to run another event at PRONI around the anniversary of
the death of Willie Redmond (June 2017).

JQ will contact DUblin City Council about running an event at the
archive.
Conferences

History of Science, Technology and Medicine-11 November-RO is running a
workshop.
WLM

Website is back up and running. EE fixed the map issues and SE has
finished adding all of the map points.

SE created the writing contest wiki page. Suggested articles need to be
added.

Launch-27 August 11-4 as part of Archaeofest in Merrion Square. RO, EE,
and SE will attend.

NUI Galway writing event dates week of September 26-30. SF will check
with library.

Science Gallery writing event dates week of October 17-21. EE will check

SF was contacted by a professor at Maynooth. She will reach out.

The group was contacted by WMF about an interview on the Innovation
Show. They requested guidance on the state of Open Knowledge in Ireland and
anything we wanted to promote. The interview was recorded. They will
contact us when it is published.

SF contacted the NUI Galway 1916 Scholar in Residence about the 1916
component of WLM. He was interested in getting involved and will promote
the contest. SF will meet with him this week.

Only 34 images uploaded so far. The website did not have clear
instructions on how to upload the images to Commons. SE has addressed that.

RO experimented with Facebook promotion in the past week with a fair bit
of success. She will promoted a WLM post every week until the end of the
contest.

Launch recap-it was a lovely day but very slow. Our tent was set apart
from the rest, so we did have many visitors. We need to discuss how to draw
in more visitors next year.

Judges-KF and RO have some leads.
Misc

KF is in contact with a colleague at UCD about a Vicipéid workshop. She
will keep us updated.

BM attempted to set up a course on the WIkipedia Education Extension. He
was contacted by the Education Department and was told it was not supported
outside of the US and Canada. RO has worked with the extension here. She
will collaborate with BM to resolve this issue.
