*Wikimedia Community Ireland Newsletter – October 2017*
*Wiki Science*
We are very excited to announce that Ireland will be taking part in Wiki
Science <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wiki_Science_Ireland_2017>
for the first time this year. Wiki Science is a photo competition looking
for images under 5 broad categories relating to science: people in science,
microscopy images, non-photographic media, image sets, and a general
category. In Ireland we will also be awarding a sixth prize for an image of
Women in STEM. We will be announcing more details over the coming weeks,
and if you have any suggestions, thoughts or ideas on this exciting
initiative do get in contact!
*Editing events in TOG Hackerspace*
We will be continuing our editing events in TOG on Wednesday 25 October
from 7-9pm. To get a reminder about this and other upcoming event sign up
on the TOG Meetup page <https://www.meetup.com/Tog-Dublin-Hackerspace/>, or
follow us on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/WikimediaIreland> or Twitter

*Wiki Loves Monuments 2017*
Thank you and good luck to everyone who entered this year's competition.
Ireland was ranked 37 out of the 52 participating countries with 851
uploaded images by 50 uploaders. We are busy organising the judging of the
