*Wikimedia Community Ireland Newsletter – May 2018*
*Sybil at The Hunt Museum*
A Wikipedia Edit Workshop is being held at the Hunt Museum, Limerick on May
19th with help from Limerick Lace, the City Museum and the City Library,
the Hunt Museum Docents and the people of Limerick and thanks to Eamonn
Ryan for creating the beautiful images.
Wikipedia is the 5th most popular website in the world, built by volunteers
from around the globe.
We need your help to create and improve articles, highlighting the amazing
achievements of Irish women in fashion and design, particularly those with
connections to Limerick and its lace traditions.
No experience is necessary - we will teach you how to edit and help you to
find high quality reference material. More details will be announced soon
through The Hunt Museum website.
*Celtic Knot 2018*
The Celtic Knot is returning for 2018! It is a conference which brings
together people from Celtic and minority languages to discuss and share
their experiences of using Wikipedia in their language work. Applications
are now open for the scholarships, find more information here
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Celtic_Knot_Conference_2018>.
We are very excited to announce that Rebecca O'Neill, Meghan Dowling, and
Abigail Walsh will be presenting on what has been happening on Vicipéid in
the past year, and what it has been like to use Vicipéid in university
teaching.
