Wiki Loves Monuments Photography Competition is Open!
Calling all amateur and professional photographers, we need your help to
capture images of Ireland’s historic monuments!
There is still time to enter the annual Wiki Loves Monuments

photography competition which is open for
<https://wikimedia.ie/programme/wiki-loves-monuments/>uploads
<https://wikimedia.ie/programme/wiki-loves-monuments/> until September
31st. You can use our interactive map <https://maps.wikilovesmonuments.org/> to
find an eligible heritage site. Each red dot on the map is a piece of
Ireland’s built heritage that needs a photograph.
There are thousands of sites waiting for their first picture, but why not
show a building or place in a whole new light or from a new angle? This
year we are awarding a special prize for a photograph of the most
challenging, remote, or obscure structure uploaded to the competition, and
an extra prize for each province of the best photo uploaded for a site that
had no photo before.
Upload from 1 to 30 September to win prizes!

Collaboration with Irish Universities
This Autumn we are continuing our partnerships with universities including
University College Dublin and the University of Limerick. We are
collaborating with lecturers to incorporate Wikipedia editing into
university teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are
excited to offer training sessions and support student editathons
throughout the semester.
Monthly meetings
Want to get more involved with our group? We meet once a month on Zoom when
we discuss and plan our events and campaigns. Our next meeting is on the
10th of October at 7 pm, just email info(a)wikimedia.ie to join.
Want to hold a Wikimedia Event?
If you, your group, or organisation want to run a virtual, in-person, or
hybrid Wikimedia workshop, we can provide a Zoom space in which we can hold
an editing or other workshop for you and your colleagues. Get in touch at
info(a)wikimedia.ie.
