I'm thinking a 2:00pm lunch somewhere followed by a chat in the snug of some bar, with a formal-ish meeting (i.e. something with an "agenda") somewhere in between?
I think a 2pm lunch is a great idea. That's roughly what the regular London meetups do. I would suggest keeping the whole thing informal for now. You can start having more formal meetings about chapter formation once you have got enough people interested. People might not attend the meetup if it looks too formal - you need to get them interested in the idea of a chapter first and an informal meetup is a great way to do that.
Thomas Dalton, from Wikimedia UK, would you be good to attend and give us some advice from your experience?
I'd love to, but I start a new job on 1st September, so it's really not a good date for me. If you follow my advice and have a formal meeting later (in October or November, say), I'll try and come. I'd cover my own costs - flights to Dublin are ridiculously cheap, even after you add on the "optional" extra charges (like paying with a type of credit card that people actually use...).
