Dear Community Members and Friends,
I hope you are all keeping well and that the transition to winter has
been treating you well.
I am delighted to invite you to take part in our Wiki Science Writing
Contest for Science Week 2024
<https://wikimedia.ie/2024/11/07/wiki-science-writing-contest-starts-novembe…>which
is now open. Use your Wiki Skills for digital activism and help us close
the gender gap and celebrate women in science!
We are hoping that this contest will help to increase the visibility and
information about Women in Science on Wikipedia. Thus we encourage entries
about Irish women, women affiliated with Ireland or living in Ireland but
this is not essential!
We also welcome entries as Gaeilge (in Irish), to help to improve the
content on Vicipéid and there is even a special prize for entries in Irish!
- *The contest begins on November 10th and will run until December 15th
2024*
- Please don't forget to sign up to the dashboard here
<https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Wikimedia_Community_Ireland/W…>
or
drop me an email and I can add your username.
- Then add your username and article to the table on the project page
here.

Hope to see some of you get involved! It's a nice activity for these dark
evenings that makes a difference without even leaving the house!
If you have any questions or need some inspiration feel free to reach out.
Kind regards,
Sophie Fitzpatrick
