I notice that we don't have any sessions at the Hackathon about Chapters/Thematic orgs/Usergroups/informal local groups. I wonder if it might make sense to have something during the Hackathon or one of the lunchtimes to discuss ways to improve communication and cooperation among the many different types and sizes of groups working in the Wikimedia universe. I don't think we should rehash financially intensive projects like the old WCA, but rather look at no-budget projects that can help bring us all together, for example group peer review. Hi Pharos, Some cooperation among thematic orgs happens on Wikimedia-l and through Wikimedians who are members or supporters of multiple thematic orgs. Discussion about how to encourage more cooperation would be good. I was hoping to encourage some of this cooperation and sharing of ideas through the Signpost series on diverse Wikimedia Education programs, and Ed is interested in publishing more globally diverse news in the Signpost. The Wikimedia Blog, This Month in Education, This Month in GLAM, and other publications are also places for thorgs to share ideas. You might also get support for sharing thorg best practices from WMF Learning and Evaluation. If the Grantmaking booth is operational you could ask them for help scheduling and announcing a thorg meeting at Wikimania.
