right now, please correct me if I'm wrong, there is no...
... Schedule, so I dont know if it will be worth while to go to wikimania ... Accommodation, so I do not know whether I can actually sleep somewhere ... Registration or even information about the costs ... Social program (incl. pre and post conference), so I don't know if that makes it more interesting
please, I have enjoyed Wikimania a few times now - but this is so much uncertainty, that I am really doubtful if this will be worth it to reserve at least a week and pay the travel and lodging costs, which dont really get any cheaper either. All we hear is "coming soon" for some months now (at least since before the chapters meeting). Even if it is not perfect, please, get something up there, so that people can give it serious consideration whether to come or not. We're not talking about a general wikimeet for a bunch of folks in a city nearby, but a conference with sessions where people need to get permission from their work sometimes to go there, where people need to take days off, where people sacrafice their vacation for.
I am hoping for and looking forward to more information.
Lodewijk
Honestly, I have the same feeling too. I can foresee that this time will be a mess. I hope i am wrong anyway, as i will spend my time and money on it.

I've been to Gdansk before, when I was backpacking round Europe in 91. It was a nice city and it is high time I returned, I doubt if accommodation will be difficult to find, I stayed in a nice cheap B&B then and suspect that things have become more touristy since.
If Wikimania still occurs I will be there, if not I'm sure those of us who are in town can find a way to meet up, and there are places nearby that I have not yet visited.
Hi.
1. Not taking away from the sense of urgency expressed by Lodewijk and already communicated by many others, I'd like to remind everyone that Juliana da Costa José has assured us that accommodation has already been booked.
2. At this point, we all understand that something has gone wrong with the preparations, but since the event is still AHEAD of us -- let's avoid mere venting of anxiety and focus on helping the Gdansk team in any way we can. That said, the Gdansk team would make helping them a lot easier if they would *communicate* about whatever difficulties they have encountered. Quite a few people have already offered to help, including WMF staff, and including people with plenty of Wikimania and other event-organization experience.
So PLEASE, everyone, let's keep the conversation constructive and refrain from adding to the already existing pressure and anxiety.
Asaf
One might say no news, good news, but it doesn't fit I think. Info from the team will be helpful even in the minimum.
Oh sorry, I have no time to do it by myself, but how about creating a wiki page tracking the schedule - specially things overdue - collecting info what was provided, what has been postponed until that and what hasn't been mentioned. It may help for all those who get involved to set priorities in these last minutes.
