I'm going tomorrow. Am catching the 9am bus to Malpensa then driving a car
to Floating Piers. I estimate getting there around 12:30-1. I have two
spots in the car open, if anyone wants to join. (Please note that I will
not be returning to Milan after, so you will need to find a ride back.)

Dear all,
because of the storm, the school in Esino Lario is now closed because of
problams with water.
Sorry, but we cannot control the weather (but we will try in the future).

Hello
There was an unintended issue today at Wikimania for the women lunch and
I would like to present my formal apologies to the male part of our
participants.
The catering people, well meaning, left some signage on the tables :
"women only".
Ugh
Traditionnally, though it is women lunch, men are welcome. I tried to
fix the signage as quickly as possible but well... not quickly enough
and some people complained about integration.
Again, this was completely un-intended.
If anyone felt annoyed by the situation, please feel free to drop for a
free hug tonight (or even if you were not actually. I am storing warm
hugs for the rest of the year).

Hi everyone,
the community voting on Wikipedia to the Moon has ended. I announced the
result at yesterday’s User digest session at Gym Palace.
152 unique voters decided between 10 different scenarios. The winning idea
is to send all featured articles and lists to the Moon, with 93 pro votes.
This decision means, that from July 1 on, Wikipedians from all language
communities are invited to work on their best articles and lists, and
submit them to Wikipedia to the Moon. The central site to coordinate
between communities will be Meta-Wiki. Details to follow next week. Please
note that if you have questions about the winning idea and how to work with
it, the best place to go is the project page on Meta-Wiki.
The voting and its result:
* https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_to_the_Moon/Voting#Result
Thanks to everyone who voted! We put the proposal up on Meta-Wiki on 24
April. The pages were immediately translated by volunteers into more than
60 languages. Many people engaged in the 6-week-discussion about how (and
if) to work on this together. Out of 17 scenarios, 10 were available in the
voting (past 2 weeks). Now the working phase/editing will be open until 31
October, leaving much time to select and improve content, or solve
challenges along the way.[1]
The goal is to hand over our “Wikipedia time capsule” by 5 December 2016,
which is International Volunteers Day.[2]
Best
Michael

Hi,
I need to get somewhere tomorrow from Esino to Milan. Do I need to book a
shuttle, or is there plenty availability? Where can I book the shuttle?

Hello Guys.
I just compared my Eventbride-ticket with the wiki-page [1]. According
to the ticket, my bus leaves at 11:30pm, but I can’t find this bus at
the wiki-page. Was is canceled or is the wiki-page outdated? If it was
canceled, how can I get on a differed bus (my plane has lift off at 18:45)?
My eventbride-ticket-id is #521878181.
Sincerely,
DaB.

Dear Cristian,
Thanks for the heads up about the strike! I'll be arriving on Friday
by plane at MXP at 11:10 AM and was planning to take the recommended
Milano Central->Varenna Esino->Esino Lario route by train/bus.
Searching on the trenord.it site and trentitalia.com site currently
shows no interruption of service on those routes.
Do we know at this point whether these routes will be affected, and if
so, is there a recommended alternative?
Thanks again (sorry for breaking the thread, just subscribed to reply),
Erik
Dear Wikimaniacs,
this not Burning Man but we have a burning Wikipedia globe at the Tent tonight.
My little brother is a craftsman specialized on metal work and he designed a Wikipedia fire basket for Wikimania and as gift for the people of Esino Lario.
We'll light the basket at around 10pm so stop by at some point tonight and enjoy some campfire atmosphere when it gets chilly. :-)
See you at the Tent later!Claudia
