Thanks to everyone for making my first Wikimania a truly wonderful experience! It was such a pleasure to meet so many of you. For those of you I didn’t meet, my name is Melanie Kill and I am an academic researcher studying Wikipedia as an encyclopedia. My research examines how the genre of the encyclopedia is being defined and redefined by the global community that writes, edits, and manages Wikipedia.
If you haven’t already, I invite you to participate by completing the survey at http://www.whatiswikipedia.com. The survey should take about 15-25 minutes to complete, and your involvement is entirely voluntary and confidential.
In addition to my gratitude, I will be giving away an iPod Shuffle to a lucky survey participant.
Please email me at m.kill(a)tcu.edu if you have any questions. Many thanks in advance for your help!

The electricity plug adapter which i brought was good for Spain, but
it isn't good for Poland. Does anyone know an electric appliances
store near the Baltic Philharmonic where i can buy a fitting plug?

Wikimaniacs,
Over the last three days i've been working with a film crew to videotape about 40 or so Wikimedia volunteers. I know that's merely a cross-section, but we heard stories from every part of the world, and the enthusiasm, love, and brilliance in our movement is incredible.
We asked/pitched some of you for filming but may not have brought you in by the end. Very sorry if so - we took longer in many cases as the conversations were just so good. An enormous dzienkuje to all of you, whether filmed or not. Your patience and good humor will go far in helping us tell the story of our movement and bring in new editors and participants. If this works well i hope we can do it again, and more efficiently so all who are interested can participate next year.
Also a big dzienkuje to the WM planning crew for helping WMF find space to set up our studio, tolerate our work, and support our vision. And thanks for having WM in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
We'll be sharing the footage with the people we interviewed soon, then taking these videos to the world. Stay tuned for a premiere in August.
Enjoy a wonderful world cup and safe travels to all!

Hi
After uploading my presentation slides to Slideshare I created a
"Wikimania2010" event: http://www.slideshare.net/event/wikimania2010
If you also publish your slides at Slideshare, please add them to this
event (join the event and select "More?" at the top right of your
slide view to do so). I do not want to promote Slideshare but any
simple place to put your slides online is better then not putting them
online (or waiting too long) - it's just one way to do it and I found
many slides from the last years but all unordered.
Cheers
Jakob
I lost my green cardigan yesterday somewhere - not known either in
venue or at the party
if you happen to find it, please pass me it. Thanks!
