Hi team!
Something happened with my account? (it's not my end because I cleared cookies and tried to login with my saved password as well as tried to reset my password).
I continually get the message: Incorrect username or password entered. Please try again.
I was ideally hoping that I could be put on the exclusion list so that I didn't have to even use a VPN to connect from China where I moved to permanently as many of you know.
What should be the next steps to: 1. unblock me for *wikidata.org http://wikidata.org* somehow if I am blocked somewhere in the system? 2. add my account so that I can login to *wikidata.org http://wikidata.org *and *meta.wikipedia.org http://meta.wikipedia.org* without needing to go through a VPN?

You are not blocked: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Log?type=block&user=&page=User...
Have you tried logging in with capital T in your username?

Capitalization of the first letter shouldn't make any difference, I rather suspect that password is mistyped. Although it wouldn't show this error message, no block or lock are placed upon your account: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Thadguidry

A few things:
This page does say the username is case sensitive. Is it really? https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Logging_in I do not see a reset password or request for temporary password on the login screen as it described on that help page: ---- What if I forget the password or username?
*Your username is case sensitive.* If you enter an email address when signing up for the account, or in your Preferences, you can make a request on the login screen for a temporary password to be sent to that address, which will allow you to retrieve your account. If you did not enter an email address, or the address was out of date, you will have to create a new account under a different username. ----
Instead I only see this when typing in my email address in the username box and leaving password box empty:

Hi Thad,
Ah, I checked with and without a VPN. I see this without a VPN: https://i.imgur.com/GbspDOE.png (includes the missing line) Which links to: Special:PasswordReset but it is *not usable* from a blocked VPN to prevent abuse. Sidenote: Your 2nd screenshot has your email-address in the "username" field, which would definitely Not work.
*For requesting an exception*, see the 3 options at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/No_open_proxies#Global_exceptions_and_appeal...
Hope that helps, Quiddity
Thanks Nick,
But I do not see the Password Reset button. (with or without using a VPN) My password has not changed and still should work, so I don't really need to use the password reset feature. There must be something else that is causing an error message that simply states:"Incorrect username or password entered. Please try again." I have always used lowercase for my username and have only changed my password about 3 times since using Wikidata from the very beginning. The last time it worked was just before my move to China. I did request the global unblock already and that has resolved the previous messages I got where I could not get a login box. I do get a regular login page on meta, wikidata, and english wikipedia. But all 3 say the same message: "Incorrect username or password entered. Please try again." This concludes me to believe there is an account issue which I do not have the means to resolve myself. Certainly the easiest test would be to have some admin reset my password to a temporary password emailed to me? If that works, then we know there is some issue with my password, and if it does not then further investigation could be made (header/response etc.)

Someone else could request a password reset email.
Perhaps that message could also be caused by some throttling error, although I'm not aware of that. I wonder if the password may somehow be provided differently from your Chinese system, although that also seems unlikely.

Hi All,
Thanks to Nick for helping with the password reset. We still don't know why with or without my VPN that I was unable to see the Forgot Password button. He requested a password reset and I received the email for a temp password and logged in and changed my password. Both Wikidata.org and Meta are working for my login.
Thanks team!

It is case sensitive... except for the first letter.
History note: this derives from usernames being a type of page. Platonides, PLATONIDES and PlAtOnIdEs are different usernames, just as they would be different article pages on wikipedia, since the first letter is always capitalised there. There are however some wikis (such as wiktionaries) configures so that the articles do not get an automatic capital letter. But for consistency, the "always place first username letter in capital" rule is applied everywhere.
I do not see a reset password or request for temporary password on the login screen as it described on that help page:
----
What if I forget the password or username?
*Your username is case sensitive.* If you enter an email address when signing up for the account, or in your Preferences, you can make a request on the login screen for a temporary password to be sent to that address, which will allow you to retrieve your account. If you did not enter an email address, or the address was out of date, you will have to create a new account under a different username.
You would have to use https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:PasswordReset
Instead I only see this when typing in my email address in the username box and leaving password box empty:
Logging in with an email on the username field is not supported. There is an old request for that but, in addition of old accounts that could contain an at sign, there may be multiple accounts with the same email (such as a bot and its owner).
