Hello everyone!
As an outcome of the GLAM Wiki Conference, Wikimedistas de Uruguay is facilitating a community process to redesign the public presence of GLAM Wiki on Meta, in collaboration with the broader GLAM Wiki movement and the Wikimedia Foundation. In order to do so, we are forming a working group that will work throughout April-August in revamping these pages, with the goal of presenting them to the broader community in August, at Wikimania in Poland.
We're now searching for people with interest in being part of this working group. If that's you, read more details and apply here:

cheers,
Hello Zblace!
I can't answer you that question -- I think that's a question for someone at the Wikimedia Foundation, not for me. In any case, the main goal for the working group is to revamp the GLAM Wiki page on Meta; we won't touch Outreach. Hopefully that helps!
cheers,
Hello Zblace,
There are no plans to deprecate Outreach.
Best, Fiona

As a firm believer that Meta is not where people outside of Movement should be expected to find information and be productive I am curious if anyone is considering updating and maintaining Outreach wiki. I would be interested in that outward facing work as I have a need for it in my region (with first wider outreach to institutions that I can not support individually). Anyone?

Hi all,
I recently added the {{GLAM on Wikimedia navigation https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:GLAM_on_Wikimedia_navigation}} template to Outreach:GLAM https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM and {{GLAM on Wikimedia navigation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:GLAM_wikilink_navigation}} to en.Wikipedia:GLAM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:GLAM.
The template draws items from Wikidata for its title & column headings, & is meant to be language agnostic. However, since I am an English language speaker, I would prefer for native or fluent speakers of other languages to implement it on those language Wikipedia GLAM pages to ensure that it works correctly. I know from a discussion on Wikidata https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat/Archive/2024/01#Problems_with_refining_a_template that it may not display the appropriate text in Japanese. However, it does seem to work well when I tried it at fr:Utilisateur:Peaceray/sandbox/GLAM wikilien navigation https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:Peaceray/sandbox/GLAM_wikilien_navigation on the French Wikipedia.
Yours, Peaceray https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Peaceray

COOL! Thank you for doing this. We sure need both navigation aid and cross-language overview. I think if you want to reach non-english speakers it would be good to also use Wikimedia Forum as it has automatic google translation.
Personally I can help with some localizations and would encourage others, as well as with functionality + design (nice color choices ;-)... Where is the best place to give you feedback on functionality and code? On Wikidata? https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Peaceray/sandbox/GLAM_wikilink_navigation
Keep up the good work :-)
Best wishes - Z. Blace
p.s. Hope you do not mind me changing the subject line and clipping email. It is somewhat overly specific to discuss on same thread + not sure it would be readable to non-English speakers if multiple conversation threads are inside.
Hi Željko & all,
Since Outreach:GLAM https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM seems to be a home Wiki for GLAM, I think that it might be best to discuss changes & give feedback at https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:GLAM_on_Wikimedia_navigati...
I think it would make most sense to test changes at Outreach:GLAM rather than the larger projects.
I will solicit feedback at Wikimedia Forum https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Forum later this week.
The color choices are meant to be color-blind safe using a gray, plus the light cyan & light yellow from https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/khroma/vignettes/tol.html#light

Hi all
It has been discussed at length in the GLAM-Wiki community that we want the GLAM activities to be presented on Meta.
GLAM is about working with partners especially in the field of cultural heritage. It is important that the partners find it easy to navigate and understand GLAM and no matter if they contact an affiliate or an independent advocate or a representative of the Wikimedia Foundation, they can rest assured that they are working with the Wikimedia movement.
Furthermore, GLAM needs collective support from all of us in the evolving landscape of priorities.
My personal take on why we must focus our energy on Meta can be found in this presentation that I gave at GLAM-Wiki Conference in Montevideo https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/e/2PACX-1vT8ySB6HfGLXT31aBgd4xrKM9Xm0...
