Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. On behalf of the organizing team, I am very glad to announce that applications are now open for scholarships to attend the first Queering Wikipedia Conference co-organized by Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, Wikimedia Austria and Wikimedia Foundation, that will take place from the 21st to the 24th of May 2020 in Linz, Austria. Not only that, the call for proposals is also open now for people interested in giving lectures, trainings or anyother kind of activity related to the topic of gender diversity. We highly encourage applications from african countries as one of the main goals of this conference is to develop local communities of Queer/allies editors in the places where so far, not enough work has been conducted. Please note that the deadline is the 18th of January for scholarships and the 15th of February for proposals. For security reasons, only the members of the scholarships team and Wikimedia Austria's staff will have access to the data provided via the application for scholarships, and no third party will. Another very important detail is that the team is offering assistance in filling any of the forms for those who do not master english enough. For that, you can reach out to me via this adress or with queering@gmail.com. Also we are trying to provide translation for presentations during the conference, so also presentations in different languages are also very welcomed.
