Dear African Wikimedians, in line with the Movement Strategy Recommendation https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Strategy/Recommendations; to ensure Equity in Decision Making https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Strategy/Recommendations/Ensure_Equity_in_Decision-making, the Wikimedia foundation is inviting you to engage in our Annual Plan process (APP) for the 2023-2024 financial year that runs from 01 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
For the second consecutive year, the Foundation is anchoring its annual plan in the movement's strategy to advance equity https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia_Foundation_Annual_Plan/2023-2024/Goals/Equity .
This year's Annual Plan attempts to provide more clarity on multi-year strategic issues and provide more information on how the Foundation operates.
The foundation has published the draft https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_Annual_Plan/2023-2024/Collaboration annual plan on meta and is inviting you to review and share your thoughts. Your comments, questions and reflections will help improve and inform the final content of what we have proposed to do before the Foundation’s Board of Trustees considers the plan and budget in June.
We also have upcoming APP conversations with the community and other stakeholders and I take this opportunity to invite you particularly to the one happening on 27th April, 16:30-17:30 UTC (Africa, CEE, MENA). You are however welcome to attend any of the other live calls that are convenient for you.

Hi Winnie,
Thanks for your email.
And those on our African Telegram group have already seen my message where I kindly request colleagues to take time and go through the draft annual plan on meta and share your honest thoughts.
Really friends - without sounding smart or persuasive - it's very important for the African community to be engaged in strategic conversations and platforms like the Annual Plan Process. This is one of the platforms where our voice gets heard!
Best regards, Bobby Shabangu
