Hi Florence,
Perhaps you could jump over to the commons mailing list to see if you could get assistance from there too.
I will if I do not get feedback in the next few days.
This tool, IMHO, should have been something handled fully by the wmf. Heck, even commons uploader takes forever to even get a minute change.
I will mention this issue as part of the postmortem.
From a technical perspective, I met two main difficulties until now * the jury tool (really great tool. Should deserve more support for a more efficient service to the community) * translation tool (the translation system is not great, but has clear benefits for repeatable events. However, there is an obvious unsufficient number of people with access to translators tool or with dual translator/administrator access. The noticeboard is basically useless (I think no one is watching it at all). Simply having a few more people with translator access should facilitate the process greatly.
A quick question: I know there's this picture of the year contest on commons. What I don't know is, can the jury tool used, or a stripped down version of it be available for contests like wlaf?
I have no idea. Anyone is familiar with the POTY process ?
Flo

Hello friends I got SEVERAL requests asking me if the winners will be known by Wikipedia 15. The short answer is "I do not know" The long answer is I try to push the process as much as I can, but the process is currently "stopped" because we still do not have the jury tool set up. Ilya has been slow responsible for the first set up. And is currently unresponsive for the second (in spite of being active on Commons). it is a bit unsettling and to be honest, I think a chapter (or the WMF ?) should propose help maintaining this tool for the community at large because it is truely a great tool. Ilya may have been happy write the code and to set it up, but be less happy to run it with regular requests :) So, if you are interested in knowing the winners as soon as possible, please help me there ! Call for help here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Ilya#Jury_tool_for_Wiki_Loves_Africa_2nd_round Flo PS: Quick reminder of the selection process - review of all pictures by 3 core wikipedians and selection of a subset : DONE - ranking of all pictures by the full jury. The 3 most approved are winners - proposition of the top ranking (except the 3 top ones) to the community and selection of a 4th winner. Le 18/12/15 17:02, Florence Devouard a écrit :
Hi friends Just a short note to keep you updated with the selection process. The first selection round is now over. Our 3 jury members (Habib, Céline and Sylvain) have done a great job and selected a short list of 1200+ pictures. I have asked Ilya to set up the jury tool so that we can move to the second round of selection and get our winners the earlier as possible.
